Totally Tennis performance player Liam Hignett finished in fifth place overall on the Summer Regional Leaderboard (Grade 3 events) for the whole of the South West region, finishing on 629 points. This was a mix of 75% of his best six singles results and 25% of his best three doubles results over the season. He finished in Under 14’s in 56th place nationally and 3rd in the county overall, which was a culmination of his best six results over the past twelve months competing in 14 and under events. He has now moved up into the 16 and under age group since September.
Hignett was 14 and Under Boys Singles Champion at the recent Hampshire County Closed event
In the seasonal ranking board, Hignett finished 36th Nationally for the summer season with a total of 1210 points, which is a great achievement and by far the best he’s done so far. These acheivements included winning two Grade 3 events (including the county closed), reaching the semi finals in another Grade 3, winning a Grade 2 qualifier for Wimbledon, competing in his first National event (Grade 2) at Sheffield, and lastly winning all his matches in the Premier Team Tennis event. Competition Leaderboards show how well players are performing during the season in a particular competition circuit and also provide players with a great way to track their progress.
Head Coach James McIntosh, “Liam has done so well over the past year and has achieved so much along the way in County, Regional and National events. Congratulations Liam and good luck in the 16 and under age group.”
