Runner-Up Spots for Rushbrook and Williams

Mini Performance player Jack played in two 10 and under tournaments last weekend where he finished as runner-up in Guildford and consolation runner-up at the event in Bradfield. On Saturday he played at the Bradfield Mini Green 10 and under Mixed singles event held at Bradfield Tennis Club in the compass draw. In the quarter finals of the main draw Rushbrook lost to eventual winner Jamie Bowsher 4-1, 4-0 and went into the consolation draw where he defeated Aoife McGuire 4-2, 4-0 in the semi-finals but lost out to Nathan Patel in the final 4-1, 5-3.

On Sunday he travelled to Guildford Tennis Academy – Ash to compete in the Grade 5 South East Junior Tournament which was again played in the compass draw format. Playing in the 10 and Under Boys event Rushbrook beat Louis Newton Well 5-3, 4-0 in the quarter finals, Sebastian Henkes-McHugh in three sets in the semis 4-2 1-4, 10-9 and finished as runner-up after losing to Carsten Melbye in the final 4-1, 4-0

Mid October Pictures 010Anna Rushbrook, Jack’s mother said “I would like to thank Jack’s coach Jamie Jordan for getting him match fit after the summer holidays and his individual sessions have really helped in his success this weekend.”

Fellow Totally Tennis Mini Performance player Nina Williams also played at the Guildford Ash event in the 10 and Under Girls Tournament also finishing as runner-up. In the quarter-finals, she defeated Daniella Townsend in three sets 1-4, 4-1, 10-5 followed by another three setter against Georgiana Parr 1-4, 4-1, 10-6 in the semis but then in the final she lost out to Evangelia Pieri 5-4(5), 4-0 to finish in the runner-up spot.
