Young performance player and Sherfield Tennis Scholar Tillie Reid has reeped even more success as the winter tennis season came to a close. Early last month she won the 12 and under Girls title at the South East Regional Junior Tournament at Epsom LTC (read about the here) and was crowned the Hampshire and IOW Winter Leaderboard 10 and under Girls winner (read about that here). She then won an event at Weybridge Tennis Club where after a bye in the Quarter Final she beat Eva Stoopin 4-2, 5-3 in the semi-final and then Emily Curtis 4-2, 4-2 in the final to be crowned the overall winner.
She then won all her matches at the Portsmouth match play event where she defeated Natalie Forssman 7-0, Serena Pennant 5-1, Daisy Hollingshead 5-1 and Lydia Marks 6-0, a great start to the transition to yellow ball for Tillie.
Coach Jamie Jordan said, “Fantastic start to the yellow ball season for Tillie with the smooth transition from a mini tennis to yellow ball.” he added “She has worked very hard for the last six weeks and that is certainly paying off with her success at recent tournaments/match plays. Well done Tillie i’m very proud of you and keep up the good work!“
