British number one Andy Murray faces Vadek Pospisil from Canada this afternoon in the Wimbledon Men’s draw quarter-finals on Centre Court. On Monday, Murray overcame the massive serve of 6ft 11in Ivo Karlovic 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 to see him book his place in the last eight. Older brother Jamie has also reached the last eight with doubles partner John Peers from Australia.The pair beat defending champions Pospisil and Jack Sock 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (5-7), 3-6, 8-6 in a long five-set match.
Seven-times Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is also in the quarter-finals and will face Gilles Simon, World number one Novak Djokovic will take on Marin Cilic after a tough match over two days against Kevin Anderson and French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka will play Richard Gasket. In the ladies draw Serena William stakes on Maria Sharapova in the first semi-final and Garbiñe Muguruza will play Agnieszka Radwanska in the other with both matches scheduled for tomorrow.
UPDATE: Murray beat Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 and then lost in the semi-finals to Federer 7-5, 7-5, 6-4. Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic were declared the champions after winning their respective finals.
