Last Sixteen For Cooper Kirby in Malta

Totally Tennis performance player and Sherfield School Tennis scholar Dean Cooper Kirby reached the last sixteen in his latest European tournament in Malta.

On this trip Cooper Kirby was traveling with mum Karen to compete in the main draw of the Grade 3 Boys 16 singles at the San Michel International Tournament in Kordin. In his first round match Cooper Kirby beat Matteo Covato, a wild card player from Italy, 7-5, 6-3 followed by a second round encounter with eighth seed Markus Kosak from Austria which Cooper Kirby won easily 6-1, 6-4.

Next up was the quarter finals where he faced twelfth seed Basilis Voltirakis from Greece who proved to be top strong an opponent and even though Cooper Kirby battled in the three set match and won the second set, Voltirakis won the match 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.
Cooper Kirby is now in Florida for a months training with Rene Gomez at his academy in Naples. When he returns to the UK after the Easter holidays he will travel to Moldova to compete in his next Tennis Europe Junior Tour (TEJT) event.
