Totally Tennis has always been involved with supporting the local community as part of its ongoing Community Tennis Programme so were pleased to host the 2nd Silchester Brownie pack at the indoor centre recently.
Thirty-six girls visited the club after picking tennis as their new sport to try this term. The girls and their leaders enjoyed a fun on-court session with Head Coach James and assistant Loic learning the basics of tennis and playing tennis games.
McIntosh said, “The session was organised for the girls to experience a different sport. It went really well and the girls were all very enthusiastic. It was good to give the opportunity to those who had never played tennis before.”
It seems everyone had a great time and enjoyed the acidity with the girls declaring it fun and wanting to play again. Pack Leader Kirstie Jones said, ‘They had such a great time, the foam balls made it accessible to all in a very safe environment.”

At Totally Tennis we believe in tapping into a child’s potential from an early age which can prove invaluable in later life. Early development of agility, balance, co-ordination and speed is essential if a child is to develop their full athletic potential. Tennis Tots is a fun session focusing on these skills through play and games which help to build confidence and social skills for any pre-schooler.
The sessions are not just tennis specific but does teach basic skills along with hand-to-eye coordination and sending and receiving skills. No equipment is required and parents are expected to join in the fun.
