Head Coach James will run the 2020 London Marathon

Head Coach James McIntosh will run the 2020 London Marathon in April in memory of his dad who sadly passed away in August 2018 after just three weeks of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

IMG_5393.jpeg

McIntosh will be running the marathon on Sunday 26th April in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK, a tough disease to diagnose, to treat, to research and even tougher to survive. For too long this disease has been sidelined, it’s important that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need. Pancreatic Cancer UK support those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight.

With just over 100 days to go McIntosh’s marathon preparation have become and he’s on track after continuing his training from running the Oxford half marathon last October. He plans to introduce some longer runs shortly and will post training updates on his JustGiving page (linked below).

McIntosh said, “I am looking forward to running the London Marathon as it’s always been on my bucket list. I know the training will be hard but I am very motivated to do.” he added, “It’s a great test of character and fitness and I know after all the time spent playing and watching sports with my Dad that he would have fully supported me in this next challenge. I embrace this amazing opportunity and would love to raise as much  money as possible for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of my Dad.”
