Performance player and coach Liam Hignett competed in the main draw of the Men’s Singles at the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) British Tour held at the University of Bath last week. Hignett won his first match against qualifier Archie Graham 6-3, 6-1 but lost in the second round against sixth seed Sean Hodkin 6-1, 7-5. The event was won by Luke Johnson from Yorkshire.
Hignett said. “It’s good to be back playing some tournaments in 2019 and mixing with some top players who have had or currently have ATP rankings, so great to be competing at this level as always.”
The LTA British Tour is a circuit of tournaments designed to give up and coming players the opportunity to gain experience in their quest to become professional tennis players, to provide competition for professional players in between competing in professional events at home and abroad, as well as providing a national level open competition circuit.*
