Totally Tennis are once again hosting a tennis and coffee morning on Friday 28th September in support of Macmillan Cancer Support ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ campaign. The club will host its ladies morning tennis session from 10am followed by coffee and cakes at 11.30am at the indoor centre, inviting players to join together to contribute to the charity’s target. The annual event, which the club has always supported has become part of the club’s charity event calendar, encouraging players to get fit and healthy whilst raising money for a good cause.
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. Working alongside people affected by cancer, Macmillan works to improve cancer care. One in three of us will get cancer. Around 2.7 million people are living with cancer in the UK today, by 2040, this will rise to 5.3 million*.
All donations received go towards Macmillan services and in 2016 alone, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events raised a whooping £29.5 million. Since 2010, main sponsor Marks & Spencer has raised more than £13 million that helps funds professionals such as nurses, occupational therapists and dietitians who provide essential medical, emotional and practical support for those whose lives are affected by cancer.
Totally Tennis’ adult morning sessions are 90 minutes and include fitness drills and match play available every week on Mondays and Fridays (10am – 11.30am) at the indoor centre in the War Memorial Park. For more information and to book your place telephone 01256 358816
