Dolman then competed in the Portsmouth Tennis Club 9 & under Winter Regional Tour and although he lost all his group matches he paid really well against more experienced players. He has also been selected for county training which is great news considering he has only just started competing.

Coach Jordan Frederick said, “Harry played his first grade 3 at Portsmouth Tennis Centre, although he didn’t win a match he came very close to winning most of them and was competing with some of the best orange ball players in the southwest.” he added, “I have been working with Harry for the last year now, his improvement rate has been incredible and always has a great attitude while training and competing.”

Dolman will next compete in the East Winter County Tour – David Lloyd Royal Berkshire 9 & under Boys singles event (20th October) followed by the David Lloyd Southampton October Half Term Tournament 2018 (from 21st October).

Tip 24: How To Hit A Drop Volley

Set up for a normal volley, but as you make contact with the ball relax your wrist more and let the racket turn so the strings faces upward so you can create slice on the ball and also keep the ball very close to the net. Remember to keep your contact point out in front and bend your knees.
