World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Event 2018 | Macmillan Cancer Support

Totally Tennis held it’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee morning event in support of Macmillan Cancer Support alongside the clubs’ regular Mixed Morning session on Friday 26th September. Players enjoyed the drills and matchplay session followed by coffee and cakes, with the club raising just over £133 to contribute to the charity’s goal to meet its 2018 target. Coffee and cakes were served throughout the day for parents of squad players too.

Head coach James McIntosh, who ran the session with Jordan Frederick said, “It was a great morning at Totally Tennis with everyone enjoying some cake after the session. Thank you to all of those who donated for such a great cause.”

The club has been a regular supporter of this annual event, raising money to donate to the charity which improves the lives of people and their families affected by cancer. Macmillan’s ongoing goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone, providing medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care and giving the all important information to help those suffering and their carers.

Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2018

Totally Tennis are once again hosting a tennis and coffee morning on Friday 28th September in support of Macmillan Cancer Support ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ campaign. The club will host its ladies morning tennis session from 10am followed by coffee and cakes at 11.30am at the indoor centre, inviting players to join together to contribute to the charity’s target. The annual event, which the club has always supported has become part of the club’s charity event calendar, encouraging players to get fit and healthy whilst raising money for a good cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. Working alongside people affected by cancer, Macmillan works to improve cancer care. One in three of us will get cancer. Around 2.7 million people are living with cancer in the UK today, by 2040, this will rise to 5.3 million*.

All donations received go towards Macmillan services and in 2016 alone, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events raised a whooping £29.5 million. Since 2010, main sponsor Marks & Spencer has raised more than £13 million that helps funds professionals such as nurses, occupational therapists and dietitians who provide essential medical, emotional and practical support for those whose lives are affected by cancer.

Totally Tennis’ adult morning sessions are 90 minutes and include fitness drills and match play available every week on Mondays and Fridays (10am – 11.30am) at the indoor centre in the War Memorial Park. For more information and to book your place telephone 01256 358816

Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at Totally Tennis on Friday 29th September

Totally Tennis will be hosting their annual Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September at the Mixed Morning Tennis session from 10:00am to 11.30am.

Regular players are encouraged to bring their friends and enjoy the tennis session from 10:00 that will be followed by coffee and cake (non-players are welcomed for coffee and cake too) at 11:30am to support the charity that helps people facing cancer and their families. Coffee and cake will also be served in the pavilion from 4:30pm during junior squads. Any budding bakers wishing to bake and donate a cake to the event will be greatly appreciated.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in association with M & S is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan, in 2016 £29.5 million was raised and this year they are aiming to raise even more.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – Friday 30th September

Totally Tennis are once again hosting a tennis and coffee morning as part of Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign. On Friday 30th September, the club will host its Friday morning tennis session from 10am followed by coffee and cakes at 11.30am at the indoor centre, inviting guests to join together to contribute to the charity’s goal to raise its £8 million target.

In 2015 the charity celebrated the 25th anniversary of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raising a whopping £27.6 million in the process. Headline partner Marks and Spencer contributed a massive £2.2million of that total alone via its staff and customers.  The annual event, which the club has always supported has become part of the club’s charity event calendar, encouraging its players to get fit and healthy whilst raising money for a good cause and do a little baking too. There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer and it’s estimated that by 2030 that figure will be closer to 4 million people. Macmillan want to be there for them all, their goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone, providing medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. From diagnosis, through treatment and beyond Macmillan provide constant support to fight life’s biggest challenge.
