Totally Tennis performance players Isla Hignett and Tillie Reid attended the second part of the annual Basingstoke Sports Awards this week, the Mayors reception at the Civic Offices. The awards, which have been going for over twenty-five years celebrate the success of clubs, teams, coaches, officials, volunteers and individuals involved in sport in the Basingstoke and Deane area. Alongside the awards and scholarships, sportsmen and women can receive funding, like the girls, via the Sports Grant Aid scheme, which is funded by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. The funds can be used to help with everything from travelling and coaching expenses to competition entry fees, equipment and clothing requirements.
